About the Program

À Table! is Alliance Française’s sixth French Excellence Programme, combining French wine education with cultural performances. The season offers an immersive exploration of French winemaking through exhibitions, theatre, music, dance, and hands-on workshops.

ACTIVITIES & LESSONS

1. Free Wine Exhibition (Main Feature)

Created in collaboration with Bordeaux’s Cité du Vin museum, this three-section exhibition covers:

  • French terroirs, grape varieties, and Bordeaux’s wine heritage
  • Biology of grapes and winemaking techniques
  • Wine aromas, textures, and food pairings
  • Guided tours available in English and French for adults and children
  • Optional wine tasting: Add a glass for $10

2. Introspections (March 28, 7pm)

90-minute classical piano concert paired with three French wines (Riesling, Champagne Solera, Sauternes). Features early 20th-century composers and guidance from 1992 World’s Best Sommelier Philippe Faure-Brac.

3. Reflections in Red (February 7, 7pm)

Opening night multidisciplinary performance combining jazz, contemporary dance, poetry, and visual art.

4. In Vino Veritas (February 27-28)

Immersive 90-minute French-language theatre experience through multiple rooms (bistro, champagne party, vineyard), ending with guided wine tasting.

5. Art & Bubbles Workshops

Monthly evening workshops (7-9pm) combining visual arts with wine/champagne:

  • Watercolor painting with wine tasting
  • Linocut printing inspired by French imagery
  • Price: $45 (members) / $60 (non-members)

Note: SO France Café is closing on February 28, 2026 Anchovy Eye, which falls during the À Table! season. There may be limited café service during the early part of the program.
